Haiti

Haiti just breaks my heart.  By the way, we put our name on the list of possible foster families for these kids that need a safe place to live.  Are we crazy?  Quite possibly, but my heart breaks for them every day.  We feel so blessed to have Addie, she has enriched all of our lives.  I guess I feel it is just my way to try to give a little back.

The other night watching TV I cried and cried all night, first for the kids in Haiti, then watching some of them finally get to be united with their adoptive families after years, for some, of waiting, and then watching a show where an African American teenage girl chose not to abort her pregnacy.  We would not have our precious angel if Ebony chose to abort and for that she will always be at the top of my prayer list.

Little girls make me sappy :)

1/2 Marathon

Ok so I was totally a sucker and paid to download the marathon pictures.  I said I wouldn't but whatever I guess.

It always amazes me how many people do this.  They said they raised over $2 million with this race.  Just look at all of the people.  It is awe inspiring.

Isn't my dad cute.  And yes it really is more fun to run in a skirt.  I have found the inner girl in me.

And crossing the finish line!!  Dad (aka Grandpa) wanted to finish in under 2 hours and we did.  We beat it by 45 seconds.

Still smiling, must not have been that painful - just wait until you stop moving.  That is when pain set in, well I guess when you move again after stopping

Fun in the Sun

We got to take a much needed vacation.  Arizona is the best in January or February when life in Utah is just cold and dirty.  We have had the darn inversion for several weeks and actually forgot that the sky was blue.  We went to visit Grandma and Grandpa and Grandpa and I ran the Phoenix 1/2 marathon together this weekend.  It was fun.  I love running with my daddy!

Of course the first thing the boys wanted to do was swim.  It really was only about 70 degrees and not really swimming warm, but kids don't care.  Grandpa's pool was still a little on the cool side but here they are getting ready to jump in.

This next picture will show you how cold the water was.  Look at Tyson's face comming out of the water.  Priceless

Here is Addison sun bathing.  Well not really but we thought it would be a cute picture anyway.

Candice was deathly afraid of holding a baby.  It was funny and she did just fine.  Addison did not cry like she thought she would.  All of the fuss made me get the camera.  I thought this would be a funny photo op.  Silly Candice.

Day two of swimming.  We decided to go down to their community center since the pool there was warmer, and they had a hot tub.  Cute little kids were little fishies all weekend long

All that swimming just wore Addison out

This was expo day.  Grandpa and I had to go pick up our race bibs so we took most of the crew along.
Addison loves being in the front pack with daddy.

Silly kiddos

This was Grandpa and I just after the race.  The weather was absolutely perfect.  There were just over 30,000 runners there - holy cow that was a lot of people

This is my father posing like a girl.  I was in my running skirt and he was jealous. There were a lot of people dressed up to match each other.  I told dad we should have got him a running skirt so we could match.  It would have been so cute.

Of course everyone loved Addison - how can you not.  The girls were so cute with her.  They just loved their new cousin

Two peas in a pod!

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for letting us stay with you, we had a blast and can't wait until next time.

Sleepy Girl

This was actually on Addi's 2 month birthday.  She was so darn sleepy.  We tried to wake her up by giving her a bath so she would actually sleep that night, well ...

And seconds later

The bath did not work, she fell asleep right in her tub.  Little cutie pie.

Just Ty lovin' his little sis

This was just a very low key night and little T was lovin' on his little sis.  I thought it was quite sweet so I had to take some pictures.

The "Girls"

Oh how we miss our cute cousins.  How truly adorable are these pictures.  Brandon is still in Iraq so this was his Christmas present.  Seriously cute.  I can't wait to see them in a week.  YIPEE!

Addison finally smiles!! (7 weeks)

Ok so she really did smile at Kent on December 29th but since I missed it I said it was just gas.  Well this morning, New Years morning (how fitting) she smiled at the very proud mama.  Yes I cried.  It was so flippin cute.  I tried to have kent take a picture of it but the darn delay in digital cameras did not quite catch it, but we tried.  Oh my gosh it was cute.  Her little dimples are truly to die for.  They will make anyone melt.  Start cleaning the gun Kent, it begins :)

Happy 8th Birthday Ty

Tyson had his New Years birthday bash last night.  He wanted to have a sleepover.  Kent and I were quite nervous about it.  Sleepover with 7 boys, could be very scary!  All in all it was not that bad.  We only had one minor meltdown and the rest of the night was really quite fun.

Here is everyone at the very beginning.  One of the more quiet times of the night since their mouths were full (ha, ha)

So Tyson got an air hockey table for his birthday.  We had set up in the basement, fooseball (I actually have no idea how to spell that - weird), air hockey and ping pong.  Not to mention an entire closet full of board games, or of course video games, and what do they all want to do ... watch a movie of course.  Whatever i guess.

Typical birthday picture - blowing out birthday candles.

This is at the end of the night.  Not everyone was able to sleep over so these are the hard core party dudes.  We are all waiting for the ball to drop right now so we can run outside and make a bunch of noise!!

Not that you can really see, but here they are running around like mad men making as much noise as possible.  It was really funny.

Now officially Happy New Year!!
